My name is Brhian Mathiu.  I live in Raceland, Louisiana.  I was twelve when the oil spill happened.

Is it okay to record this interview?

Yes ma’am.

How did the oil spill affect you?

Well, it didn’t really affect me, but, um, I know a lot of people that it affected like the seafood industry and like the people who fish for a living.

How did it affect your seafood eating?

Well, it affected our seafood eating because normally you can go to different restaurants and eat all the seafood you wanted, but when this occurred you couldn’t go to many different places and get seafood.

How long did it take to clean up?

Well, now, it, the incident happened like two years ago, but now, they’re still cleaning up, so it’s going to take a time, it’s going to take a long time.

What has made it better?

Um, the people was there to help and clean up the oil.

Do you know anyone who helped clean up the oil?

Yeah, I know a lot of people who helped clean up the oil.
